After many months of meetings and behind the scenes organizational work, the East York Hall of Fame is now an official reality.

The non-profit organization was launched at a press conference on May 8 at East York Civic Centre and announced that nominations are now open to include East York residents, former residents and those who have worked or played here throughout their careers.

A seven-member board of directors is headed up by longtime EY volunteer Justin Van Dette and includes local Ward 29 councillor Mary Fragedakis as vice-president, along with former EY mayor Alan Redway, East York Foundation chair Ray White and several others who have been active in promoting East York culture.
