Toronto City Council has resoundingly supported motions by Ward 31 Councillor Janet Davis and Ward 29 representative Mary Fragedakis approving the application of the logo of the former Borough of East York to new and replacement street signs in the area.

Council voted 26-11 in support of a motion by Ms. Davis allowing the logos to be applied to the signs in East York and 28-9 in favour of a supplementary motion by Ms. Fragedakis extending the privilege to the other “legacy Cities” that were amalgamated into the new City of Toronto in 1998.
