East York born female shot put sensation Brittany Crew is in intensive training as she prepares for yet another trip across the globe to compete internationally, this time to Australia.

Now two-time reigning Canadian champion and Canadian record holder in the sport and a competitor at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, in early January Crew was named to the Canadian Track and Field team for the 2018 Commonwealth Games being held “down under” from April 4-15.

The former R. H. McGregor Elementary School and Cosburn Middle School student has previously competed as far afield as Korea, when in 2015 she won a bronze medal at a world university competition and last year in Taiwan, where, as we reported on August 27, she capped a sensational season by capturing the Gold Medal at the Summer Universiade (World University Summer Games).
