EY seniors support worker wins Canada-wide company award

A seniors’ support care worker with an East York company that helps seniors to continue living at home has won recognition as top Canadian employee of the firm. Verna Edwards, who provides a variety of in-home services for seniors through the local East York-based franchise Home Instead Senior Care, was chosen as “CAREgiver of the Year” for Canada last month, the company recently announced. The nine-year veteran of the local firm, located on Woodbine Ave., now becomes one of seven regional finalists for the “Mary Steibel CAREGiver of the Year” award, the network’s top caregiving honour, which will be presented at its annual international convention in Omaha, Nebraska from April 26-28, a company press release adds.
