EY Moments 036: Wishing you a healthy body and mind

Posted by on Dec 2, 2017

Where do you think East York begins and ends? I was trying to figure this out because I wanted to let East York Chronicle readers know that the fabulous Main Fitness (where I took yoga teacher training – check it out, it’s an outstanding program) is moving to 1745 Queen Street East as of early December. That still keeps the terrific team of trainers and instructors located within the wider neighbourhood and if you haven’t tried their classes, make yourself a New Year’s resolution and buy a package of passes.  If you don’t feel like travelling down to Queen, you can still give yourself your own holiday gift by purchasing Main Fitness co-owner Charlene Sullivan’s new DVD “Pendo To Go”, available online through Vimeo or Amazon. Charlene is a certified medical exercise specialist, and her custom fitness program is...

East York has the best politicians too!

Posted by on Dec 1, 2017

Apparently not only is East York and area the best place in Toronto (maybe the world?) to live, it’s also the best place to be a politician! Mr. Erskine-Smith is a rookie maverick MP half the age of Tabuns who represents Beaches-East York riding for the Liberals since handily upsetting NDP incumbent Matthew Kellway by capturing just shy of 50% of the vote in the 2015 campaign. While their political...

East York Ladies Softball veteran players holding reunion Nov. 4

Posted by on Oct 8, 2017

A group of former players in the East York Ladies Softball League are planning to hold a reunion social on Saturday November 4 and inviting their former teammates and opponents from the 1980-2000 era to come out to relive memories and catch up.  It will take place at The Wally Tavern, 302 O’Connor Drive at Donlands, starting at 7 p.m. Weone Macrae came up with the idea “while sitting around the pool having drinks and reminiscing with some old friends this summer,” she told East York Chronicle.
