It’s September and that means that once again the Danforth East Community Association will be staging its always popular Danforth East Arts Fair over two weekend days at East Lynn Park on Danforth Ave. a bit west of Woodbine Ave.

This years’s edition promises to be the best yet as over 60 vendors have signed on for the September 13-14 event that features a wide variety of works presented by local artists, crafts makers, creative tradespeople and local food vendors offering their wares.

(One of our favourite eat spots will be the food truck run by Corrado “Charlie” Pecorella, owner of the former Colombo’s Pizza in the area who now has a new restaurant, Corrado’s, doing booming business on Cosburn Ave. and last year won “Best Of The Ex” for his truck.)

This year’s edition also features works by a “Young Artist” who was selected following a vigorous competition earlier in the year.

As always there will also be live music to help set an artsy tone and plenty to keep the wee ones occupied as well.
The Kids’ Zone will provide a full slate of activities both days put on by some of the plethora of new family-oriented businesses that have sprung up in the Woodbine-Danforth area the past few years, including Silly Goose Kids, Pegasus Studios, Art Cave, Colour Creative and Oaks n’ Acorns.
